I started Ayers drilling in 1985                                                Since we started we have spent a tremendous amount of time researching & development to design a durable domestic water well and a pump system.       The steps to drill a durable well & pump system are as follows (1) drill 8 3/4" hole. (2) Us drill collars to insure that hole is straight . (3) Expose adequate amount of aquifer to insure the well produces adequate supply. (4) use 4 1/2" SDR 17 pvc casing, SDR 17 pvc casing is the strongest pvc casing on the market it is nearly twice as thick as sch 40 and gives more clearance to insure that the pump never gets stuck or welds it self to the casing like pumps tend to do in 4" sch 40 wells.   [ note ]*** water well drillers have to stand behind there work for one year and pumps can last 30 years, you do not want to find out one day that your pump has welded its self to the casing and not only do you need a new pump, you need a new pump system because it will not come out of your well and if it will not come out of the well then you will need a new well also. now thats one big problem that I recognized 18 years ago I have lost a lot of work over it to. but 6 years ago I made the decision that here at AYERS DRLG & PUMP that it would become company policy that the company would not ever run any more 4" sch 40 pvc casing in wells that we drill and more over we would stand behined our 4 1/2" SDR 17 pvc cased wells for 5 years.  (5) Use 4 1/2" SDR 17 screens. your well is ony as strong as your weakest link and wells with small diameter screens yeild small amounts of water.  (6)  use a gravel or sand pack that will retain the aquifer to insure that the well doesn't make sand and wear out your pump. (7) cement the well from the top of the gravel or sand pack all the way to surface.   (8) When we drill a new well we pour a 4'x6' slab around the well & install a steel sleave around the casing.  (9)  air jet the well this tends to clean the well's aquifer, remove wall cake, clean gravel pack, develope the well into its full potential. and it alouse you to determine where the pump will be set,    (10)  Chlorinate the well before installing the pump this is very important.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Danny Ayers

Why not just do it right the first time and get on to somthing else.
